This is part two following “Biblical End Time Players of Revelation.” In this post I wish to deal with “the eighth beast.”

When seeking understanding of the meaning of this prophetic symbol, “the Beast,” it is impossible to find a higher authority than Gods own scriptures birthed by the Holy Ghost’s inspiration. Consequently, scripture must be allowed to serve as its own interpreter. Therefore, what is clearly revealed to be the meaning of the term “Beast” in one passage or prophetic vision, will most likely be the same predictable implication when it is used in other prophetic passages of scripture. Furthermore, indisputable certainty is provided for us in scripture where God has sent His holy angels for the specific purpose to deliver, with absolute clarity, the interpretation of the visions given by God unto His prophets. Therefore, with the angel’s interpretation of Daniel’s four beasts there can be no room left for any speculation as to what the “beasts” of Daniel’s vision represented.

Daniel, being desirous to “know the truth of the fourth beast which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful,” was enlightened by an angel who interpreted the vision saying, “The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms.” Thus, the angel plainly reveals to Daniel that the four beasts are four civil or municipal kingdoms and hence the term “beast” should be recognized as prophetic imagery pertaining to real historical kingdoms.

Daniel 7:15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. 17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Likewise, in the beginning of Revelation chapter 13, when the Apostle John states, “I saw a beast coming up out of the sea,” we would do well again to allow scripture to interpret itself. Just like Daniel’s vision, John’s vision too was apocalyptic and therefore every part of John’s vision has significance. Fortunately as with Daniel, God used His holy messengers to bring the interpretation regarding certain parts of John’s vision, like the “sea” and its significance as revealed below by the angel.

Revelation 17:7, 15 The angel said unto me, “Wherefore did you marvel, I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns.” And he said unto me, “The waters which you saw where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.”

It is important to have multiple witnesses when trying to fix a meaning to apocalyptic imagery, so let’s look at some other passages where the Holy Spirit used the word “waters” to represent nations or people;

Isaiah 8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

Isaiah 17:12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! 13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

Jeremiah 47: 2 Thus says the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.

In Revelation chapter 12 we are shown the constant hostility that the dragon, “the old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,” has maintained towards God’s people. We see the “church in the wilderness” (Acts 7:38) now represented in Revelation as “a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.” Revelation 12:17 unquestionably reveals the dragon’s hatred and determination to make war on the seed of the woman “which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” This hostility throughout history has been directed at God’s people through numerous “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues,” is again represented by the seven heads of the dragon. As with “the dragon” in Revelation 12, and “the beast” in Revelations 13, we are again reminded of Daniel’s four historic beasts.

Therefore, the prophetic significance of the seven-headed “dragon” and “beast” in John’s vision is to direct the attention of God’s people to those historical “nations and tongues” through which “the dragon” has in the past carried out his warfare. Only by acknowledging the historic rise and fall of those empires will we be able to follow through and discern the final Eighth Beast which bears the red dragon’s mark (Re 12:3) and continues to serve as a manifestation of demonic power on earth warring against true Christians in these last days.

A good example revealing the necessity of understanding is seen in chapter 13, where we see the beast alone rise out of the sea, yet later in chapter 17 the beast is pictured with a woman sitting upon it “arrayed in purple and scarlet color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” This woman represents all the various demonic religious systems of the world throughout the ages, (including pseudo-christianity,) and yet once again it appears events unfold that bring about a unified religion in chapter 17 as the woman entered into an alliance with the seven-headed beast which did not exist in chapter 13

Remember, the overall seven-headed imagery is multifaceted prophetic symbolism which does not represent just one thing and one thing only. However, that doesnt mean in certain places of Revelation it isnt used to focus in upon one particular thing such as “the Dragon, or Satan,” as mentioned in chapter 12. Likewise, when it rises out of the sea later in chapter 13, the seven-headed beast represents the rise of a particular final kingdom, referred to as the “eighth . . . [which] is of the seven, and goes into perdition.” Nonetheless, the overall prophetic image of the beast contains multiple aspects intended to represent other key biblical end time players having critical roles in these end time events, each needing to be identified if one is to gain proper understanding of the vision.

A good example revealing the necessity of keeping track of the events in order to gain understanding can be seen in chapter 13, where we see the beast alone rise out of the sea, and yet later in chapter 17 the beast is now presented with a woman sitting upon it “arrayed in purple and scarlet color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” This woman represents all the various demonic religious systems of the world throughout the ages, (including pseudo-christianity,) and yet once again it appears events unfold that bring about a unified religion in chapter 17 as the woman entered into an alliance with the seven-headed beast which did not exist in chapter 13.

This absence of the woman in Revelation 13 would appear to indicate that at the time of the rising of the eighth beast, a separation existed between the “scarlet colored beast,” and the “woman.” Yet prior to the eighth kingdoms foretold destruction, there appears a merger of mutual consent must have transpired between this eighth beast civil power, and this apostate religious institutional power, perhaps in order to promote a rising new dictatorial world religion.

Since the prophetic purpose of the seven heads is to represent a progression of seven kingdoms in order to lead us to this eighth and final beast empire, I believe the ten horns are meant to represent a regional consolidation of multiple end time nations. However, I must clarify that with the “ten horns,” I am not persuaded they are meant to be an absolute definer of the number of end time nations that will consolidate, but perhaps serve as more of a signifier of an historic and biblical region previously so defined, possibly parts of Europe, and or the Middle East regions of the old Roman Empire.

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion . . . (Revelation 13:2a)

“The beast…” is a consolidated beast that exhibits some characteristics of its many contributors, therefore some of its features “was like unto” those of the four beasts which were seen by Daniel, (Daniel 7:1-7). In Daniel’s vision there was a lion which had eagle’s wings, a bear, and a leopard, which also had four wings of a fowl, plus a forth beast, “dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth, and it had ten horns.” All these beasts in Daniel are cruel and terrible beasts of prey, but here in Revelation 13:2 they are but part of the final eighth beast that will be an end time amazement and terror to mankind, not only because of its power and wealth, but also because of its deceptions.

Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast . . .

. . . and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (Revelation 13:2b)

This part of the verse everyone seems to agree on, at least until we get to the conclusion of whom the eighth beast is. Regardless what this beast may have appeared to be in the past, it is evident by this part of the verse that the eighth beast will ultimately become an instrument to further the dragons work, and acts under Satan’s authority. This will be even more obvious when we look into the second beast which has two horns as a lamb but speaks like a dragon.

Remember, on the mount during the time of Jesus being tempted, Satan claimed he had power over all the civil kingdoms of the world throughout time, and that it was his to give to whomsoever he pleases; a claim Jesus did not dispute. Nevertheless, this claim is only true to the extent of the permissive sovereignty of God as He works all things for His own glory as He did with Pharaoh in Egypt, the first head of the beast. For what God chooses to disallow can never be.

Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking Him up into an high mountain, shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto Him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will, I will give it.

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. (Revelation 13:3)

This wound to one of the heads represents an anticipated deadly wound to the beast itself. Given by the sword, this wound was caused by an assault of war, for the following verse speaks of the resulting fear the nations of the world had of making war with the beast. For we see in Revelation 13:14 that the beast fully recovered from the wound by the guiding efforts of “another beast” mentioned in Revelation 13:11.

Through these symbolisms, we see what was intended to be a mortal wound to the first beast, actually represents the beginning of a transformation that causes this civil power to rise above all others on the world scene. For even though initially it appeared this mortal wound was going to be effective, the beast incredibly recovers with its power and influence now greatly magnified through the leadership of the second beast. For the “dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.” For as stated in an earlier post, though this individual or office of leadership represented by this “second beast… with two horns like a lamb” may look like he is for peace, his motives are to the contrary, because “he spoke as a dragon.”

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? (Revelation 13:4)

Again, verse 3 states “All the world wondered after the beast” and in verse 4 “who is able to make war with him.” This is because of the second beast’s authority and power to do “great wonders” so that “he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” It is this great fire that falls to the earth from the heavens whereby he “deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles, [that causes something that was never before accomplished,] which he had power to do in the sight of the beast.”

It was this manner of retaliation that was delivered upon those who attempted to inflict the mortal blow to the beast “which had the wound by a sword, and [yet] did live.” Not only does the Eighth Beast survive, and recover, it is thereby catapulted into a position of global supremacy, (Revelation 13:14). It was this “fire” which came “down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men” that caused the entire world to say “who is able to make war with him?”

The entire world wondered . . . Just who is this Beast?

In studying the Beast of Revelation, it helps to keep track of the order of the events the Apostle John is witnessing. First, John sees the beast rise up out of the sea, recover from a mortal wound and then rise to a place of global admiration because of its miraculous power and victory in war. Next the leader of this empire institutes a joint identification and economic system whereby “no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Most will agree it is unlikely a new economic system will come into play unless there is a crash of the existing economic system. But we are told this new joint identification and economic system will somehow be enumerated with the leader’s name, perhaps not too different than “ObamaCare.” For this system will require all, “both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,” to receive a distinct mark of verification “in their right hand, or in their foreheads.”

By glorious design, the body of man was fashioned such that it could serve as temples for the living God. Consequently men should “serve the LORD with gladness . . . [for] the LORD He is God: it is He that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.” Every unique aspect of man’s being is the product of “His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had before ordained that we should walk in them,” and it is the devil’s greatest desire to pollute and corrupt men so as to turn their hearts away from God. A fact most choke upon and cannot accept is that it is irrelevant what men want, or how they perceive all this as they rebelliously continue to entangle themselves in the political affairs trying to shape the world they desire, for what God sees in all this is a corrupt government deceiving those created in His image for His purpose, and forcing them to desecrate themselves with another’s “mark” that would forever oblige them to give service and worship to the beast..

I Cor. 6:19 What? know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

In I Cor. 7: 23 Paul tells us that we were “bought with a price; be not you the servants of men.” Yet that is the very thing the beast  attempts to do to humanity, to make them servants of men and ultimately slaves of the dragons beast system. Later in Revelation 14, the Apostle John, “looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him a hundred forty and four thousand, having his Fathers name written in their foreheads.” But those who were not sealed, but rather took the mark of the beast, John saw the following;

Rev. 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

In Revelation 15 we see “seven angels” come out from heaven unto the beast “having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.” In chapter 16 the apostle “heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth . . . And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.”

Next in chapter 17, the beloved Apostle John now sees the introduction of a woman, which comparable to the beast itself, “sits upon many waters.” However, not only was this woman like the beast in her influence upon many “nations and tongue,” she is now shown to John to be riding the beast signifying an end time merger between the eighth beast (a final kingdom) and the mother whore (false religious system). This merger takes place before the final destruction of the eighth beast and the whore riding it. Yet this merger of theirs is only an attempt to deceive the nations and the true church, which “if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

The driving force behind the woman is the same force behind the beast. It is the dragon which gives them both their power and seat, and authority. This deceitful force behind this ungodly union of “pseudo-church and state” is the same force the apostle Paul warned the Church of Corinth about.

II Cor. 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Upon seeing this vision of the rise and fall of the eighth beast with its merger to the “great whore,” John was overwhelmed with bewilderment. What he witnessed left him wondering what it all meant and how did it relate to the church and God’s plan? Therefore God had “one of the seven angels which had the seven vials” go and talk to John saying, “Wherefore did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.”

Right here in Revelation chapter 17, we see the angel begins to explain the who’s and whats of chapters 13-16. Not until the angel gave the explanation did John fully understand what he had seen. This angel clearly tells John two things, first, “I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sits upon many waters,” and secondly, “I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.”

This “mystery” was never something God only intended to reveal to John; rather He was committing it unto John so he could write it down and deliver it to the church of Jesus Christ. Of this we can be certain by the Angel’s statement that all “they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world.”

What we must gleam from that statement, and the scriptures listed below is that God not only wants His church to know and understand this “mystery,” He fully expects us to. If our names are in the Lamb’s book of life then we do not have to be left in the dark wondering about this mystery. If we are still wondering, then perhaps it is because we haven’t taken the time or been truly obedient to the Lord to diligently seek it out and prove things the best we can both scripturally and historically. Sadly, what the Holy Spirit said is true, too many people in these “latter times” have swallowed fables by the likes of Tim Lahaye and others when they really should have been praying, studying and prayerfully listening to the Lord regarding these things. More people are shamefully more familiar with the story line in the Left Behind series than they are with the truth of Word of God.

Still, many have been duped into an attitude of excusing themselves, thinking it really doesn’t matter because God is going to rapture them out before the beast comes on the scene. If it doesn’t matter, then why did God give us prophetic warning? God wants His people to know and therefore they should know. Do you think it says in vain, “they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world?” It means exactly what the angel says. Now that doesn’t mean there won’t be some young believers who don’t know these things, but that should only be because they have yet to learn these things line upon line and precept upon precept. Not because like Peter said, they are willfully ignorant, being too lazy or lacking the faith whereby God would reveal it to them. In these two places we see those who will be deceived-

Rev. 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev. 17:8 The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

“I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns.”

One of the main clues the angel told the apostle John is the very one most overlook. The angel stated, “The beast that you saw was, and is not; and [yet] shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition.” In another place the angel repeats it this way, “the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.”

Most people read over this clue and simply focus on the part about the “seven mountains” and give way to the temptation to identify them as the seven “hills” of Rome in an effort to apply these verses to the Roman Catholic Church. My main question to those interpreting it that way is when did the Catholic Church cease to exist (and not just simply flounder because of political oppression) and then revive? The phrase “was, and is not, and yet is,” irrefutably indicates something existed, then ceased to exist, and then came into being again. Regardless, all these verses must fit or they simply do not say whatever people keep attempting to attach to them.

Revelation 17:9 And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

The angel plainly says to John, “here is the mind which has wisdom,” or perhaps, here is wisdom for those willing to prayerfully reason this through. Regardless, the angel committed unto John a clue to pass on to those honestly seeking understanding. Remember, “The seven heads are seven mountains . . . there are seven kings, five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come.” What we can see woven in this phrase is exactly what we see in 17:8; the past, the present (or the duration of time between a past event and a future event), and the future.

The beast clearly has a past and a future and according to scripture there was also an unknown duration referred to as “is not” in between them, and since the beast has seven heads that represent the seven mountains . . . and since there are seven kings, five of which “are fallen,” we can then confidently say that five of the beast’s heads represent five mountains, or kingdoms with their respective five kings, all which at that time were respectfully in the Apostle John’s and Israel’s then PAST.

Therefore we must apply this to the time frame of the PRESENT back in the Apostle John’s time, (the time of the angelic discourse). If one were to of asked John back then if there was a king and nation oppressing Israel, he would have definitively answer, “Yes, Caesar of Rome.”

The Seven Mountains

Let’s look at what is prophetically meant by the word “mountain” in scripture. Here are some references to mountains in scripture to which we can look and compare to gain understanding –

Jeremiah 51: 24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD. 25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain

Zechariah 4: 7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Da 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Da 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Am 4:1 Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

Am 6:1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

So who are the “seven mountains?” We can know with certainty four of them from the 7th chapter of the book of Daniel. –

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. [the Babylonian Empire]
5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. [the Mede-Persia Empire]
6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. [the Greek Empire]
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. [the Roman Empire]

We know from Revelation 17:9 that the sixth head which existed at the time of John was Rome. We also see above the three empires before Rome; which would be represented by heads numbers five, four and three of the beast. But since there are seven heads and only four have been identified thus far, we need to determine who the other three heads are, two existing before Babylon and one after Rome. However, the key to understanding the seven headed beast is to remember the beast must correlate with Israel.

The first head is easy, for Israel was birth into a nation when Moses led them out of slavery in Egypt. It was in Egypt that the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, “increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them,” so much so that the Egyptians began to fear them.

Exodus 1:8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.
9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:
10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:
14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

Egypt is therefore represented by the first head of the beast. But who is the second? The scripture reveals to us that before the Babylonian captivity the nation of Israel divided into two kingdoms because Rehoboam had refused to eased the burden on the ten northern tribes.

I Kings 12:2 And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)
3 That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying,
4 Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
5 And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.
6 And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?
7 And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.
8 But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:
9 And he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?
10 And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.
11 And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
12 So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.
13 And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men’s counsel that they gave him;
14 And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
15 Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16 So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.
17 But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
18 Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
19 So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
20 And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.

Because Israel was now divided, having two separate kings, Jeroboam was afraid the hearts of the people would return toward Jerusalem and he would lose his control of them.

I Kings 12:25 Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.
26 And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:
27 If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.
28 Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
29 And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.
30 And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.
31 And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.
32 And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
33 So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.

Because of this idolatry and their refusal to repent, God raised up Assyria to punish the ten northern tribes of Israel and to take them into captivity.

II Kings 17:18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

Therefore Assyria is represented by the second head of the beast. Let’s take a fresh look at the present order of those heads representing the succession of beasts which we have clarified. First we have the five that are fallen at the time of the Apostle John’s vision –

1. Egypt
2. Assyria
3. Babylon
4. Mede/Persia
5. Greece

Then we have the “one is,” which would be the sixth head, Rome. This sixth head is the fourth beast which Daniel said “shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.” That is in fact what Rome did to Israel in 70 A.D. at which time Jerusalem was destroyed according to the prediction of our Lord and it was never again in the sole possession of the Jews until after the conclusion of World War II.

But who had possession of the land once Israel ceased to exist? Perhaps more importantly, who had gain possession of it prior to Israel’s rebirth in 1948? The British Empire had it. It was once boastfully said that “The sun never sets on the British Empire.” Having conquered so much, all around the world there were subdued territories subjugated to the British Empire and it was in 1948 that Israel was “born again” on land that had become part of the British Empire. Thus we can see how Israel “was, is not, and yet is” today. We would do well here to remember it was partly because of England that America sought to get involved in World War II. Plus, it was World War II that brought the sudden decline of the British Empire and gave America its occasion to rise to global supremacy.

So if we look at the complete list of those seven nations or empires which have had a direct relationship with Israel, either by taking her into captivity or having dominion over them and their land, it would be as follows:

1. Egypt
2. Assyria
3. Babylon
4. Mede/Persia
5. Greece
6. . Rome, (Which destroyed Israel, and so both the beast and Israel, “was not”)

7. England

But look now what the scriptures says:

Rev. 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

Now, “the eighth” is either (1) a direct branch or descent from the seventh, or (2) it is a mixture of the seven being an end time conglomeration of multitudes, languages, nations and tongues, as a nation existing as an international melting pot, a land made up of immigrants.

Either way, America alone comfortably wears this Cinderella slipper.

Now, I know these things are hard for many to accept, and again, I welcome all questions (not that I promise an irrefutable answer to all submitted). Nevertheless, I will labor to answer all I questions can.

    Dear William,
I agree with you, I think the USA IS the 8th beast, so does that BHO the coming anti-christ since I feel, and I think you do too, that we are ever so close to The Tribulation and End of Days?
After reading your blog and listening to that doctor talk on Alex Jones (no, I’m not a fan of his) and hearing all the things the USA has done without provocation and/or informing its citizens, I feel as though there is no doubt left in me that this is the case.
I pray that God will be merciful to the ignoramuses in this country like me, who truly thought the government was working to watch over, protect and provide a place where we could have life, liberty and the pursuit of freedom. I know now that that does not happen in this lifetime.

      Hello Kim,
Thanks for commenting. I am sorry for the delayed reply as I was away for my son’s graduation :)

My schedule today prevents me from much time to put thoughts together to answer your questions . . . I feel it is best that I qualify my answers.

BTW, thanks for reposting and adding a link to your last post.

      Peace, William

      Hello Kim,

I am very sorry for the delay in answering in regards to whether I think BHO is the anti-christ.

Personally I feel he would actually be more the “false prophet,” since he has come under completely false pretenses. Says he’s a Christian yet has no such verifying fruit and has not failed to miss the recognition of an Islamic day of recognition (holy they are not).

Re 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Re 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Re 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

There are many things that I am no persuaded of that the majority of latter day Christendom embraces. I hope to be able to address some of my concerns, but I am aware that many people believe these things since they are widely accepted and it is what they have always been taught. Yet when I study them and scrutinize them I fine that several aspects don’t seem to be as solid as everyone thinks.
After this next post I am working on I may begin to address different ones. I am praying the Lord gives me clarity and simplicity to address these things since I know it may shake a few people.

I cannot of a certainty proclaim that i’m right. But, the beast that was is medo-persia, is not during Roman rule, comes from the seventh beast which is the islamic empire(the people of the prince to come) that conquered Rome and others from early 7th century up to 1909 when the caliphate was abolished. It received a deadly wound in War (the battle of Tours). However, the ‘KINGDOM’ still exists. It has never been conquered.

The Holy Roman empire did not exist before Rome, nor did it conquer any of the previous beasts, nor did it occupy a large swath of territory.

The Bible lists these 10 kingdoms– which are all Islamic: Ezekiel 38, psalm 83

    And remember Islam IS Antichrist.

    • William E. Males says:

I acknowledge your comment “I cannot of a certainty proclaim that I’m right,” but to immediately follow that with “But, the beast that was, IS Mede-Persia” seems to be pretty assertive that you believe you are correct . . . which makes it clear that we are not in an agreement on the second point. No offense intended, which is why I left your link unedited. People need to be fully persuaded themselves, something neither of us are going to accomplish.

I am a bit lost as to why you also feel the need to mention “The Holy Roman Empire did not exist before Rome, nor did it conquer any of the previous beasts, nor did it occupy a large swath of territory.” That is not my position nor is it ever so stated in my writings. Sooooo, I don’t know if that is intended to be a correction to something you think I’ve stated, or if it is an insertion of a new thought that is already being dismissed as irrelevant by you in your own comment.

Regardless, perhaps you can answer this, who is the whore that sits on many waters made up of “peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues?”

And how do they “make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire?”

And how is the whore “reigning over the kings of the earth?”

And how have “the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication?”

As far as you last assertive comment to “remember Islam IS Antichrist,” the same can be as equally and truthfully said of many of the pseudo-churches out there preaching another Jesus, another gospel, by another spirit.

If Israel is the one who was and is not, doesnt that make Israel the beast??

      • William E. Males says:

        Hello Linda,

The purpose of this post was to show how the 8th manifestation of the beast which had seven heads was correlated to Israel. The beast “was, is not, yet is” only because the 6th head, Rome destroyed Israel. Israel is the key to identifying the progression of the beast from its beginning at the birth of Israel as a nation to the end of time when the 8th which goes into destruction turns against her. I really recommend Eye to Eye by William Koenig to see the pattern of America turn with Israel, insisting on her dividing the land God gave unto her. Check out the following short videos, 2-4 minutes each –

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I am trying to toss out all I have learned about end times and research myself. I have a complicated spreadsheet comparing Daniel and different chapters of Revelation but have gotten “bogged down”. Your analysis is excellent and a great help.

May our Lord’s Holy Spirit guide you and continue to open your understanding. He is a rewarder of those who “diligently” seek Him.

  4. Amazing blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go
for a paid option? There are so many options out there
that I’m completely confused .. Any recommendations?

    • William E. Males says:

WordPress has served me well, the only real reason I would upgrade if starting out would be to eliminate undesirable advertisement that would conflict with your messages.

Concerning being a writer, especially a Christian one, be true to God and His word first, not your own heart. It must always be guarded by the Breastplate of Righteousness, which is Faith and Love laboring together for the glory and honor of Jesus’ name.
