Coffee House

(Click on Banner)

I host a simple Coffee House in my hometown here of Crystal River. It isn’t much, no thrills or frills, just a place where believers from all aspects of the Christian faith can come together to meet other believers and share the things God has been doing in their lives. Some come with a song, some with exhortations and others just looking for comfort and friends. You can link to the Coffee Shop by clicking the banner above or simply view below.

VIDEOS

The following are just a few videos of older messages I shared at the close of the evening.

Thirsting for God – Rivers of Living Waters.  God’s word is true and all His promises towards us in Jesus Christ is yea and amen, then why is it there are not these “rivers of living water” flowing out of each and every believer?

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

. . . and instead, they found religion – We need to be careful what we allow ourselves to overcome.

Understanding God’s Anger It has been said by some that “the God of the Old Testament was an angry God.” Now that creates a need for clarity because God never changes. That He is the same yesterday, today and forever is in fact the teaching of scriptures, but they also state that God is indeed angry with the wicked everyday (Psm 7:11), because they have made themselves to be His enemies. His word also clearly tells us that to become friends with world is to willfully engage in war with Him.

Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

While being at war with God may not be the intent of men, it is nevertheless the reality their choices place them in. Friendship with the world exposes the faultiness of any love for God we think we may have for Him, rather it indicates a state of delusion in the “believer.”

1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

A man’s true adversary is one who has a just claim against him; an offense resulting in a debt, because he has the authority of the law to demand satisfaction. Therefore we are encourage strongly by Jesus to settle any claims with our adversary while we are in the way with them, because if it goes to judgment unsettled, then the law will extract its full judgment against us.

1Jo 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Believe Not In Vain – After many other’s shared their hearts at the Coffee House what the Lord had been placing upon their hearts, I stopped and prayed and asked the Lord to help me bring it altogether and then reasoned the Gospel, pleading for the Church to become the men and women of God they for which they were saved.

Dwelling in the Secret Place – So often as believers we are content to dwell in the world with our belief system, thinking that it is sufficient. We know our scriptures, go to our church, busy ourselves with other things that we truly believe to benign, indulging in leisures and entertainments . . . all while the time we need to purchase necessary oil for our lamps and eye salve for true godly vision is quickly slipping away.

We must be found to be in Christ, not just a church. We must have true works of faith which bear witness to our love for God. We need to be godly, not just good. We must be holy as He is holy and not merely moral, for if we are not in Him then all our “good works” are worthless, reprobate, and actually witness against us because we knew the truth and did not truly live in Him.

Re 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Christianity is not passive – We are instructed by the scriptures to be vigilant in our faith, to strive to enter the strait gate, fight the good fight , run the race, be good soldiers, finishers of the faith. Yet so many are not, they have settled into the faith like a big easy chair and are almost asleep in their faith and love for God. We must awake unto righteous and serve our Captain of Salvation who enlisted us into His army.

Ro 13:11: And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Fulfilling The Call To Holiness – The Bible tells us many truths we must embrace if we are to live a life of intimacy with our Redeemer Jesus Christ; that we are to “prefect holiness in the fear of God” and also “without holiness no man shall see God.”  Because these truths apply to everyone of us, the Apostle John tells us, “every man that hath this hope in God purifies himself, even as He is pure.”

Hallowed Be Thy Name This was the message God laid on my heart this week, the need for God’s people to desire that His named would be hallowed throughout the earth, not just our own lives.

Please, no lines in the sand with God How we hinder ourselves with God and cause ourselves to be dull of hearing when we need to be hearing what He is speaking to His people. We need to forgive each other, strive for unity and learn to love each other as He loved us.

Forgiveness is just a starting point – As believers we must strive forward to perfection. Not flawlessness, but resolve of heart, perfecting holiness in the fear and love of God.

Receiving a love for the truth – An encouragement to receive one of the greatest gifts apart from Himself that God is offering us when He enlightens us with the Gospel and correction from His word.

Break through to God – If we truly understood the love of God for us, if we could grasp what Jesus meant when He told us “God so loved the world,” then we would truly risk it all to break through to see this God who loves us so.

Legality versus LegalismNot every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

Letting God be your God Is God speaking to you? Are you listening to Him? Are you listening for Him?

Grace and Peace be multipliedWant more peace? Need more grace? Well, God wants to not only “add” it unto you, but to “multiply” it in your life.

Finish the work Are you doing what God’s given you do?

Message from Crystal River of Life Coffee House 01/06/2011

The following  are some sermons from years ago . . . perhaps you can hear it if you know me today LOL. They are messages from Sunday night meetings we held at a rehap facility years ago. Since the “State of the Art” technology was cassette way back then, I hope to get more of them translated to mp3 files to share later.

Hope you enjoy them.

Psalm 23

Personally, I think David was an old man when he wrote this one . . . after he learned how much trouble his “wants” had led him into.

The disciples did not understand

Before we go off interpreting what Jesus answer was to a particular question of the disciples . . . maybe we should understand their question first.

Why did Jesus appear in different forms

Have you ever thought about it? Why did Jesus appear in different forms?

Joh 20:13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. 14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

Lu 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know Him.

Joh 21:4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. 12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

Tales from the tomb

Was there one angel or two? Why did Peter and John leave Mary there in the garden alone weeping? Was it in the end of the Sabbath or at sunrise Sunday morning?

For centuries there has been much confusion when people try and reason the different accounts of Jesus’ resurrection as recorded by the apostles. The fact that they all seem to have a different story to tell does not help,  are seemingly reporting different events which had taken place around a major singular occurrence, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The fact is that these different events are recorded in God’s word and they are all therefore true. Perhaps the answer to the confusion is to consider that there were multiple trips made to the tomb.

Salvation only through Lordship

Heb 2:10  For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him;
